This Age, Eligibility, and Identity Verification Policy explains how age, eligibility, identity, account, transaction, and fraud-prevention checks may be carried out when you access or use Backstage.cam and the digital content service made available through that website, referred to in this Policy as the “Service.”
The Service is operated and administered by Influencestage Ltd, a company registered in Hong Kong under registration number 856485650, with its registered office at Room 1305, 13/F, Hollywood Centre, 233 Hollywood Road, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong.
In this Policy, “Backstage,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Influencestage Ltd in relation to the operation and administration of the Service, and to the relevant Applicable Backstage Entity where a matter relates to a purchase, subscription, one-off paid access, payment, refund, chargeback, receipt, invoice, transaction review, payment-security check, or other transaction-related matter. Where the context requires, these terms may refer to both.
Depending on the relevant customer, product, territory, transaction, payment method, or payment flow, another Backstage group entity may also be involved as the applicable seller, merchant of record, receipt or invoice issuer, entity responsible for refunds or chargebacks, or payment-related contracting entity. The Backstage group entity responsible for the relevant purchase, subscription, one-off paid access, payment, refund, chargeback, receipt, invoice, transaction review, payment-security check, or other transaction-related matter is referred to in this Policy as the “Applicable Backstage Entity.” The current Backstage group entities that may act as an Applicable Backstage Entity are identified in our Terms of Service and, where relevant, in the applicable checkout flow, receipt or invoice, or transaction-specific disclosures.
This Policy should be read together with our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Refund and Cancellation Policy, and any other policy or notice that applies to the Service or transaction.
This Policy applies to age, eligibility, identity, account, transaction, payment-security, fraud-prevention, and risk-related checks that may be carried out in connection with the Service.
This Policy applies to visitors, registered users, subscribers, customers, and other individuals who access or use the Service.
Verification, onboarding, contracting, and payment processes for content providers, licensors, commercial partners, and other business counterparties are governed by separate agreements, procedures, and notices.
The Service is not intended for children under 13.
Users aged 13 to 17 may use the Service only where permitted under our Terms of Service and applicable law, and only with any required consent and supervision from a parent or legal guardian.
Purchases, subscriptions, one-off paid access, payment-related features, and any content or feature designated as age-restricted are available only to users who are at least 18 years old, or who meet any higher age requirement that applies under applicable law or the Service.
You must not misrepresent your age, identity, eligibility, location, payment authorization, or other information provided in connection with the Service.
We do not require all users to complete full identity verification as a general rule.
However, Influencestage Ltd and/or the relevant Applicable Backstage Entity may require age, eligibility, identity, account, transaction, payment-security, fraud-prevention, or risk-related checks where required or appropriate, including where needed to:
(a) confirm that you meet the minimum age or eligibility requirements for the Service, a purchase, a subscription, one-off paid access, or a specific feature;
(b) process or protect purchases, subscriptions, one-off paid access, payments, refunds, chargebacks, or payment disputes;
(c) prevent fraud, payment misuse, unauthorized access, abuse, impersonation, or circumvention of access controls;
(d) comply with applicable law, legal requests, payment processor requirements, banking requirements, card network rules, sanctions or restricted-party screening requirements, or other risk-management requirements;
(e) respond to suspicious, unusual, disputed, high-risk, or inconsistent account, payment, transaction, refund, chargeback, device, technical, or usage activity;
(f) recover, secure, restrict, or review an account; or
(g) protect the Service, users, transactions, content access, business relationships, and legal rights.
We may restrict, suspend, delay, or refuse access to an account, feature, purchase, subscription, one-off paid access, transaction, refund, or other Service functionality while verification or review is pending.
Verification and checks may vary depending on the circumstances, applicable law, payment method, transaction, country, account history, risk signals, and Service functionality involved.
Depending on the situation, we may use one or more of the following:
(a) age confirmation, date of birth, or eligibility confirmation;
(b) email, phone, account, login, or security verification;
(c) payment authorization, payment method, billing, transaction, refund, or chargeback checks;
(d) device, browser, technical, usage, security, fraud-prevention, or risk signals;
(e) restricted-party, sanctions, fraud, or abuse screening where required or appropriate;
(f) review of account activity, access activity, support communications, transaction history, refund history, or payment dispute history;
(g) verification through a third-party age, identity, payment-security, fraud-prevention, or risk-management provider; and
(h) where necessary and permitted by law, government-issued identity document checks, selfie or liveness checks, facial comparison, age estimation, or similar verification methods.
We may use manual review, automated tools, risk scoring, or a combination of these methods. We may not disclose detailed fraud-prevention, security, or risk-scoring methods where doing so could reduce the effectiveness of those measures or compromise the security of the Service.
Influencestage Ltd and/or the relevant Applicable Backstage Entity may use third-party service providers to support age, eligibility, identity, payment-security, fraud-prevention, risk-management, sanctions, or account-security checks.
A third-party provider may collect information directly from you or receive information from us where necessary for the relevant verification or review. The provider may process information in accordance with our instructions, its own privacy notice, applicable law, or its role in the verification process.
Where a third-party verification provider is used, additional notices, terms, consent requests, or privacy information may be provided during the verification flow.
Completing a verification process does not guarantee that access, a purchase, a subscription, one-off paid access, a refund, a transaction, or any Service feature will be approved or remain available.
If you fail verification, refuse required verification, provide inaccurate or incomplete information, provide false or misleading information, use unauthorized information or payment details, or attempt to bypass verification, we may take action.
This may include refusing or cancelling a transaction, refusing or restricting access to a feature, suspending or terminating an account, restricting content access, refusing refunds in abusive, fraudulent, or bad-faith cases where permitted by law, contesting payment disputes, blocking payment methods, or taking other action permitted by law or our Terms of Service.
Where required or appropriate, Influencestage Ltd and/or the relevant Applicable Backstage Entity may also report or disclose relevant information to payment processors, banks, card networks, fraud-prevention providers, regulators, law enforcement authorities, courts, or other competent parties.
Personal data processed for age, eligibility, identity, payment-security, fraud-prevention, risk-management, sanctions, account-security, or verification purposes is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Depending on the purpose of the verification or check, personal data may be processed by Influencestage Ltd and/or the relevant Applicable Backstage Entity. Influencestage Ltd generally processes verification-related data in connection with operation and administration of the Service, account security, content access, fraud prevention, risk management, and enforcement of our Terms of Service. The relevant Applicable Backstage Entity may process verification-related data where needed in connection with purchases, subscriptions, one-off paid access, payments, refunds, chargebacks, payment disputes, transaction reviews, payment-security checks, tax, accounting, banking, payment processor, or record-keeping requirements.
Verification data may include account information, contact information, date of birth or age confirmation, payment and transaction information, technical and device information, fraud-prevention signals, risk indicators, verification status, identity information, and, where necessary and permitted by law, identity documents, selfies, liveness information, facial comparison information, or similar verification data.
Where biometric data is processed for the purpose of uniquely identifying a person, we process that data only where permitted by applicable law and in accordance with our Privacy Policy and any verification notice presented during the verification process.
We retain verification-related information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy and our Privacy Policy, including to provide and secure the Service, prevent fraud, handle payments, refunds, chargebacks, and disputes, comply with legal, tax, accounting, banking, payment processor, and record-keeping requirements, enforce our Terms of Service, and establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Third-party verification providers may retain verification-related information in accordance with their own legal obligations, contractual obligations, retention periods, and privacy notices.
We may update this Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the Service, verification processes, legal requirements, payment processor requirements, fraud-prevention practices, or operational practices.
Where required by applicable law, or where changes are material, we may notify you by email, through the Service, by posting a notice, or by other appropriate means.
The updated Policy will apply when it is made available through the Service, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
